1. WHO WE ARE

James Alpe Ltd is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office(Z8249496) our company address is Lincoln Way, Salthill Industrial Estate, Clitheroe, Lancashire BB7 1QD.

We are committed to respecting and protecting your personal data whilst it is in our care. We collect your personal information to enable us to complete repairs/conversions to your vehicle or provide the servic (s) you have requested. We have strict policies and procedures in place to protect your data when we acquire it, when we process it in order to provide you with the services you have requested or, where you have given us your permission to do so, and thereafter when we store your data on our secure servers for the length of time required i.e length of repair guarantee or if legally required to do so.

2. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT

We will only collect the relevant personal data from you or a work provider/insurance company to provide the service(s) required these include;

  • Names and Address
  • Alternative address if required when using our collection/delivery service
  • Telephone number(s)
  • E-mail address
  • Driving licence details
  • Credit/Debit card details
  • Information which establishes your identity, such as passports and utility bills, National Insurance number

3. HOW WE KEEP IT SECURE

Our servers are secure, we have policies in place to maintain all digital and none-digital records we hold so whilst your data is in our care we know it’s as secure as it can be. Our employees are trained in data security, and our policies and procedures help them to understand what is required under their obligations to us, and their responsibilities under GDPR and other policy legislation.

4. CAN YOU ACCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA WHICH IS HELD BY US?

We are always happy to tell you what personal information of yours we hold on an informal basis as we have always done in the past and to update it accordingly. However, under the General Data Protection Regulation you may formally ask to see what personal data of yours we hold by means of a Subject Access Request and have the formal rights of rectification and under some circumstances the rights to erasure, to restrict and object to the processing. You will also have the rights to information about any automatic processing. You may exercise these rights or ask any questions regarding our data protection policy by contacting our Managing Director Lee Shaw by e-mail lee@jamesalpe.co.uk and of course you have the right to complain to the UK regulatory body the Information Commissioners’ Office who you can find at https://ico.org.uk/concerns/ Notwithstanding this, we welcome any input you care to give us in the course of our normal business transactions about changes to your personal data and we will incorporate them into our records straight away.

5. CALL RECORDING

Calls may be recorded for training and monitoring purposes, all credit/debit card telephone payments are taken on a secure line and are not recorded. James Alpe Ltd is PCI compliant.

6. MARKETING

We would like to send you information about other products and services we offer which may be of interest to you. If you have agreed to receive marketing, you may opt out at any time. You have a right at any time to stop us from contacting you for marketing purposes. If you no longer wish to be contacted for marketing purposes, please email, phone or write to us at the address below.

7. DASH CAMERAS

Dash cameras are not permitted to record when a vehicle is on our premises, if a dash camera is fitted to your vehicle we ask for it to either be removed or unplugged before coming on site. This is in line with GDPR to protect the privacy of other customers and the technicians working on your vehicle. If a camera is still plugged in when we receive a vehicle on site for repair it will either be unplugged or covered for the duration of the repair.

8. SOCIAL MEDIA

On occasions we may feature your vehicle on our company social media platforms during or after the repair process. We will always disguise your registration number on any images taken as your privacy is extremely important to us. If you would not like us to use any images of your vehicle please contact us on 01200 444455 or e-mail info@jamesalpe.co.uk, alternatively you can advise one of the reception team who will ensure this is recorded on our paperwork.

9. CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY

We keep our privacy policy under regular review and changes could be made, this privacy policy was last reviewed on 2nd June 2023.
