Roadside Assistance Vehicle

16 July 2014

We are just rolling out another fleet of roadside assistance vehicles for Allianz Global Assistance www.allianz-assistance.co.uk based on Mercedes Vito vehicles. The complete conversion has taken place in house and the vehicles will be handed over to Allianz technicians fully IVA tested. This is quite a technical build for James Alpe Vehicle Conversions with lots of issues to overcome in designing a fit for purpose vehicle. These vehicles provide a break down and recovery service for Mercedes Benz across the UK – it is therefore important that this new fleet of roadside assistance vehicles convey not only the right image, but carry all the necessary equipment to carry out an efficient, effective service to Mercedes drivers. One of the main features of the vehicle is the CRT (compact recovery trailer) which is deployed in the event the vehicle is non-driveable. The vehicles carry a large amount of kit, batteries, diagnostic equipment, jack, spares, etc so weight is really important, as is manual handling. We have been working with Allianz (formerly Mondial Assitance) for many years and have built up a strong relationship with them, working closely with them at the design stage of each conversion project. We are now receiving enquiries from many different organisations who need this type of vehicle on fleet. Any design of roadside assistance vehicle is possible and with our in house CAD facility we can provide three dimensional drawings prior to commencement of build.
